Threat to the existence koala population to encourage Australia to do some research efforts to prevent the recording of all communications with the animals through the phone. Researchers will install a number of mobile phone in the trees where koala habitat.

Researchers use the tools that connect with satellites to monitor the behavior of koalas and is used for voice phone that will light every 30 minutes, and able to record all communication koalas for two minutes.
Mobile-phone installed in the trees that use batteries and said the sun and each recording can connect and download directly on the computer of the University of Queensland in Brisbane.
“Koalas are able to communicate from a short-range voice, clear voice to long for one minute, the average communication takes place in the middle of the night, so we need tools to monitor their communications,” said researcher Bill Ellis.
Ellis said, previous studies revealed the form of voice communication by male koalas are used to mark his territory and is used to entrap female koalas married during the season.
“During the season marry, the male is seen as active in the movement seemed attentive but slow,” said Ellis.
Ellis added, research and sound and behavior of koalas can help to know the behavior of koalas, so if at any time habitat of Australia’s pride is threatened, the determination of the location of evacuation koalas can be easily determined in accordance with the ‘desire’ koalas, the koalas. Koala population is increasingly threatened by urban development that is increasingly rapidly.
